We at Dorier are looking forward to a future filled with safe, successful, hybrid events. But why hybrid? As we shared in the previous article about the effectiveness of virtual events, audience engagement is one of the keys to determining the success of a virtual event.
In hybrid events where we are mixing offline and online interactivity and engagements, the possibility and results of the audience engagements are a lot higher and able to retain them throughout the event for a long time, compared to a 100% virtual — where your audience has a shorter attention span.
When cutting short an event is not an option, especially the type of virtual conference and online workshops or webinars, having multi-short breaks can be one of the options to reduce the fatigue of sitting in front of the screens too long.
How does Dorier do Hybrid Events?
One of the hybrid events we did was ANREV Annual Conference; it was a 1-day event with a total of 9 hours of content, managing a total of 15 keynote speakers from 14 countries. There were several short breaks in between the sessions to minimise the fatigue of the online audience. The interactive Q&A sessions were effective in maintaining the engagement level of the online audiences too.

The event successfully achieved a 58% engagement rate (minimum of 3 hours continuous stay & participating online) from a total of 288 registered participants across APAC.
